Jennifer J. Wiseman

Dr. Jennifer Wiseman is an astronomer, author, and speaker.  Her research using optical, radio, and infrared telescopes addresses the ongoing formation of new stars in interstellar clouds. She studied physics at MIT where, in 1987, she discovered Comet Wiseman-Skiff.  She continued her studies at Harvard University, where she received a Ph.D. in astronomy.  Dr. Wiseman served as a Jansky Fellow at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory and as a Hubble Fellow at the Johns Hopkins University. She also has an interest in science policy and served as a Congressional Science Fellow of the American Physical Society.  Dr. Wiseman enjoys nature and sharing the excitement of science and astronomical discovery through talks, essays, and public engagement.
